Catsitter for Two Cats
CAT FOOD Breakfast - Half a pouch of wet food for each cat. Sometimes I add a 1/4 scoop of kibble to Peter’s. He eats so fast, sometimes he tries to eat poor Pumpkin’s breakfast too! Dinner - Same as breakfast. (never extra kibble for Peter for dinner) Bedtime - One scoop of kibble. I feed Peter by the window and Pumpkin by the water cooler. I try to put Pumpkin’s food down first so she can get a head start on Peter. The wet cat food is stored in the tall cupboard to the right of the fridge. The kibble is stored in the bottom right cupboard under the dish drying rack. You can replace the water in the cat water fountain as needed (I use water from the water cooler). CAT CARE Pets are allowed on all furniture. I try to discourage them from scratching furniture and chewing/destroying plants. Peter will jump up onto the kitchen counter and eat any food that is left out. I spray him with the spray bottle when he does this. I also recommend you put any pans/dishes in the sink right away (And rinse them! He will climb into the sink and lick the dishes!) and do not leave any food unattended on the counter. Please clean both litter boxes daily. There are plastic bags under the sink. I have mats under each litter box to catch most of the litter but A LOT still escapes. Somehow, they manage to track it all through the hallway and into the living room/dining area! I use the vacuum cleaner to do a quick clean of the litter on the floor every day. Pumpkin Likes - giving kisses, licking you (especially if you are wearing lotion), chin/ear/cheek scratches Dislikes - being picked up (but will tolerate briefly), belly rubs, the vacuum cleaner *She has peed in my bed before. Usually, after I have traveled for a long while, and returned. It has only happened twice in the past two and a half years. But keep an eye on the primary bedroom sheets just in case.* Peter Loves play fighting, cuddling and chasing. You can pick him up, but he unfortunately does not seem to like belly rubs (like Pumpkin). I am trying to limit the amount of playfighting with my hand and use a cat toy instead. He will bite you when he is playing, not hard but it is something to watch out for. When he does this to me, I say “OUCH!” very loudly, remove my hand, and stop interacting with him. His favorite toy is the brown mouse attached to the black rod, or the feather attached to the black rod. He loves diving into the cat tunnel to chase these. He will also go CRAZY for the laser pointer. You can make him run all the way down the hall and up the walls. He will also chase any bugs or flies that have gotten into the house, it’s pretty entertaining :) Peter will try to eat human food, you can never leave it unattended, or he will get to it! He jumps up on the kitchen counter and will eat off plates or lick cooking pans. He even climbs into the sink to lick the dirty dishes! I’ve gotten into the habit of putting all dishes/pans in the sink and giving them a quick rinse before I start to eat. When I catch Peter on the counter, I firmly say “No!” and scoop him off.
